It’s not the easiest thing to write about the love story between Markus and Nanae, but that’ s not really what we want anyway. Hopefully, the brief summary we put together is not that far from the truth. Of course, we hope the couple will correct and improve upon their new web site as they see fit. We’d also like to apologize for this summary’s being told more from  Markus’ point of view than from Nanae’s, but perhaps the newlyweds can straighten that out.

Markus and Nanae met in 2001 in New Zealand on a language holiday to improve their knowledge of English. There they met, fell in love, and must have enjoyed their togetherness more than anyone might have thought.

Most of us would have ended this holiday-flirt at the end of the stay, but not Markus and Nanae. Shortly thereafter, Nanae visited Mek in Switzerland, where they began a European Tour! Munich, the town in which Markus popped the question, may not have been as romantic as Paris, we know, but do you think this oversight ultimately influenced Nanae’s answer? Not at all! Mek, feeling good after a few beers, asked her to become his wife, and Nanae, of course, accepted!

The next step took a lot of planning. Mek had to get permission from Mr Monden, Nanae’s Dad. It took Mek a while to learn how to ask permission by heart, but Mr Monden agreed to the marriage, even before Mek could utter a word. Knowing now that there was no longer so much as a stone left in the way keeping him from marrying his love, it was pretty easy for Mek to finally say those words he had been preparing for so long!
